PM Awas Yojana Gramin Survey 2025, Eligibility, Benefits & Apply On April 1, 2016, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) was introduced with the intention of enhancing housing conditions for the impoverished in rural areas. The goal of this central government program is to replace shoddy and transient (kutcha) homes with sturdy and long-lasting (pucca) homes. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and the Ministry of Rural Development work together to administer the program. Compared to the Indira Awaas Yojana, PMAY-G provides more financial and technical support. Additionally, it encourages the use of locally relevant and environmentally friendly building materials. In order to give eligible rural families more time to take advantage of the program, the application deadline for the second phase of the scheme has been extended from its original March 31, 2025, date to April 30, 2025.
